Planning for a 75-acre lifestyle center in Seven Hills is continuing. Formerly known as Rockside Terrace, the development is now named Sora Hill. Developer Steiner + Associates of Columbus became a partner in the project in 2007, and hopes to finalize the plans once the economy improves.

Construction of the Lake to Lake Trail in Middleburg Heights has begun, and it should be finished in November 2008. The Cleveland Metroparks project will connect Lake Isaac and Lake Abram. In Brooklyn Heights, the Eagle Glen Connector Bridge in the Village Park was installed. It eventually will be part of a trail linking Brooklyn Heights to the Towpath Trail. In Seven Hills, a new mile-long trail behind City Hall opened to the public.

Westlake voters will have the opportunity to weigh in on three rezoning issues in November, including an advisory issue for the Bradley Road property owned by the Westlake Board of Education, and another regarding a proposed expansion of Crocker Park. In Seven Hills, voters will decide a rezoning issue for the Rockside Terrace development.

In multipurpose trail news:
- Cleveland Councilman Brian Cummins says the construction of the Treadway Greenway Connector trail could be completed as soon as the end of fall.
- At a meeting last week, consultants presented plans for a trail through the West Creek Greenway that would link Brooklyn Heights, Independence, Parma and Seven Hills with the West Creek Reservation and the Towpath Trail. A pair of public meetings will be held early next month.
- In Shaker Heights, City Council is scheduled to vote on the planned Shaker Boulevard median trail on Monday.

The City of Seven Hills approved spending $75,000 and opening bids for the construction of a mile-long multipurpose trail that will eventually link to the West Creek Greenway. Construction of the $800,000 trail should be completed this summer. Meanwhile, Broadview Heights officials are applying for grants that would permit them to examine the feasibility of building trails.

The City of Seven Hills, the Parma Board of Education, and developers were able to reach a financing agreement for the proposed Rockside Terrace mixed-use development. The next phase of planning will "determine the location of the roads and the buildings, how open space is utilized and the needed public improvements." Mayor Bentkowski hopes for a fall groundbreaking.

The Parma School Board did not vote on a tax increment financing package for the planned Rockside Terrace development, disappointing the project's developers. Seven Hills City Council unanimously approved the agreement at a special meeting on December 31.
